Abstract

LLAVADOR, José Beltrán. Metaphor of higher education: topologies beyond common sense. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2014, vol.49, n.35, pp.10-28. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.5238/2015v49i350002.

The reflections presented in this contribution are part of a work in progress conducted by the author on educational policies in higher education. This time the focus is on the role of metaphors as expressive resources that helps to explain the production and reproduction of social representations about university. At the same time, metaphors are powerful vehicles that can either place someone in familiar spaces and common places, or move beyond common sense, trying to build alternatives topoi (topologies) needed to redefine the relationship between university and society in the context of deep and intense social changing.

Keywords : Metaphors; Social Representations; Higher Education.
