The purpose of the present article is to analyze some written records submitted by (future) teachers obtained from an experiment on the Methodology of Mathematics Teaching-Learning-Evaluation through Problem Solving. When they worked on a problem involving cylinder volume, they started by building it with sheets of paper, estimated the volumes and wrote the solution. After discussing the solutions, they formalized the mathematical built concept. Such experiment grounded the present research, which has a qualitative approach and was developed through participant observation and document analysis. The results showed the need to explore written language in teachers' education in order that they will be able to do it with their own Mathematics (future) students, through problem solving.
