This paper presents part of a research that was conducted in post-doctoral stage whose purpose was to analyze public politics related to high school and the use of Information and Communication Technologies (ICT) in Portugal. This is a qualitative research conducted through a documental and bibliographical study that presents, besides a concise history of technology integration in education related to the programs carried out in Secondary Education of Portugal, data that were taken from the Routes Observatory of Secondary School Students of the Statistics and Planning Education Office (OTES / GEPE), that expand the analysis field. The results indicate the importance of technological equipping available in schools as a result of public politics, a relevant interest of the university in the training of teachers and the importance of actions related to the enhancement of digital literacy among teachers and students of public schools.
