Abstract

BETHENCOURT, María Teresa  and  VILLEGAS, María Margarita. Young students linked to the University: processes, interactions and practices of subjectivities. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2019, vol.57, n.52, e16158.  Epub Sep 13, 2019. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2019v57n52id16158.

In this paper, we examine the practices of subjectivation inherents in the process of understanding being a university student, lived by students-young people in the teaching career, who (are) narrated (in) the university. The texts (narratives) and metatexts (interviews and class journals), produced by ten students of different specialties, during the development of a course offered in a Venezuelan public university of teacher training, constitute the analytical textual body collected in the context of the ethnographic research. Its treatment resulted in three categories of findings: a) acceptance of social expectations; b) recognition of the virtues of the university and c) the symbolic reconfiguration. It is concluded that the link with the university demands closeness and communion between the personal and cultural interests, which occur when the young people reach to question themselves as part of the university system and the meaning they share within the field.
