Abstract

RIBEIRO, Wagner Leite  and  GUERRA, Maria das Graças Gonçalves Vieira. Courses Evaluation from the SINAES: an analysis for quality improvement at the Federal University of Paraíba. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2019, vol.57, n.53, e17064.  Epub Sep 19, 2019. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2019v57n53id17064.

This paper analyzed data contained in the courses evaluation reports, available to the academic community and society, in Internal Evaluation Committee (CPA) website, from Federal University of Paraíba (UFPB), based on the National Higher Education Assessment System (SINAES). It is a qualitative research, based on bibliographic and documental survey. For this purpose, the technique adopted to process the gathered data was the analysis of Strengths, Weaknesses, Opportunities and Threats (SWOT). As a result, it was noticed that the pedagogic-political projects must be revised and upgraded, in order to comply with the current legislation, in particular with the guidelines established by the National Commission for the Evaluation of Higher Education (CONAES) and the National Institute of Studies and Educational Research Anísio Teixeira (INEP). Also it was proven the priority of making enhancements regarding aspects related to library collection and structure, accessibility and other physical facilities, since such indicators were notoriously poorly evaluated in on-site visits.

Keywords : Course evaluation; National System of Evaluation of Higher Education; Federal University of Paraiba; Internal Evaluation Committee.
