CELESTE FILHO, Macioniro. The rural education conceived by Renato Sêneca Fleury in the mid-1930s. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2019, vol.57, n.54, e18235.  Epub Feb 10, 2020. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2019v57n53id18235.

The article studies the conception of rural education formulated by Renato Sêneca Fleury in the mid-1930s. Author of a vast didactic work, he saw no contradiction between school-based education in the countryside and the principles of active education of the New School. Thus, his approach constitutes the interpretative possibility of a rural New Education. The objective of the present work is to present analytically the educational proposals about the Brazilian rural education, involving the country man, conceived by Renato Fleury about. The methodological procedures used here favored the analysis of his main theoretical work on the subject, the book Rural education, of 1936. For illustrative purposes, the article exemplifies how this occurred in excerpts of the literary instrument published by Renato Fleury in 1935, the book In the countryside: rural booklet for fast literacy. Texts of other authors who studied the production of Renato Fleury subsidized the analysis performed here.
