Abstract

The work aims to understand the knowledge and practices assembled by a teacher of Portuguese language to 9th grade students in Elementary school when teaching Grammar/linguistic analysis. On the one hand, it is relied on discussions about the teaching of Grammar/analysis linguistic, on the other hand on reflections referent to the learnings and to the docent actions. This is a qualitative study, developed through the use of the following procedures: section of focus group; classroom monitoring and interviews. The analysed data indicated that the actions of the observed teacher by teaching grammar, seem to be influenced by their experiences as a pupil of basic education and lived experiences in the exercise of their teaching, whom undertook greater pressure than the didactic knowledge, the teacher was not subject to what was introduced to him or her, yet produced unlike referral.
