Abstract

CARDOSO, Maria Heloisa de Melo; FELDENS, Dinamara Garcia  and  LUCINI, Marizete. LGBTQI+ youth and education: from children's government in Herbart to inclusive policies. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2020, vol.58, n.55, e18932.  Epub Jan 29, 2021. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2020v58n55id18932.

The normative order of the school, discipline and control of the youth, characterize Herbart's conservative pedagogy, which still remains present in the Brazilian classrooms. Thus, this study aims to address the notion of education developed by Herbart, specifically with regard to the governance of children, and the understanding of the condition of LGBTQI+ youth under the focus of inclusive policies. For that, a conceptual discussion is carried out, developing an explanatory study conducted in the light of the theoretical reflections that, due to the comprehensiveness of origin and focus, represent a varied sample of the production related to the theme presented here. The results show that the normalization of sexuality is translated by social rules that influence society and all that are part of it, including the school. This study points to inclusive policies as a possible way for the school to deal with differences in the field of gender and sexuality.

Keywords : Education; Government; LGBTQI+ youth; Inclusive policies.
