Abstract

ALVES, Cláudio Eduardo Resende. Public policies, gender and curriculum: notes for equity. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2020, vol.58, n.58, e-21587.  Epub Oct 16, 2020. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2020v58n58id21587.

This article aims to reflect on gender, curriculum and public policies in the experience of preparing the Belo Horizonte city Municipal Plan for Gender Equity. In the national context of regression in public gender policies, the area of education has been severely affected, despite its relevance in promoting citizenship and confronting sexist violence. The text analyses the Plan and gender silences from post-critical theoretical studies that highlight the relational and discursive dimension of gender in interface with the curriculum. To this end, four reports from the field diary were selected and problematized as guidelines for theoretical and empirical research. The results show convergences and divergences in the conception of gender public policies among public power, social movement, civil society and academia. The study points out that the Plan can be taken as a form of existence and resistance in the field of gender equality.
