Abstract

ALMEIDA, Dóris Bittencourt  and  COSTA, Fabiana Pinheiro da. The “feminine invasion” in the House of the University Student of the Federal University of Rio Grande do Sul in the decade of 1980. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2021, vol.59, n.60, e-25105.  Epub Apr 19, 2022. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2021v59n60id25105.

Within the field of History of Education, the article aims to analyze the processes that involved the feminine "invasion” of the House of the University Student (CEU/UFRGS), in the decade of 1980. The study was developed from a documentary set containing verbal memories of five women who participated in this episode. The study operated with Oral History assumptions, considering the subjectivities of memory as a production of the present time that evokes experiences of the past. The examined narratives allowed to understand this phenomenon from the perspective of who once was forbidden to live in the university housing. It is observed that the University created innumerable barriers for the access of women to CEU, but, with the “invasion”, there was an opening that promoted new ways of if coexisting in this place, making it possible that, gradually, they could have guaranteed the right to student assistance and could give continuity to their superior education, having access to a place to live within this period.
