Abstract

GUCZAK, Daiane  and  MARCHI, Rita de Cássia. Research with Young Children − ethical issues, first observations and signs of assent. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2021, vol.59, n.62, e-26305.  Epub Apr 18, 2022. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2021v59n62id26305.

This article aims to reflect on ethical issues in research with young children (three to four years old) in a Child Education Center, highlighting the signs of agreement and questions regarding the researcher's presence in the field of investigation. With a qualitative approach and theoretical contribution from the Sociology of Childhood, the research aimed to understand the interpretive reproduction of digital content carried out by children. In data generation, ethnographic techniques were used (participant observation, semi-structured interview, field diary, informal conversations and drawing and storytelling workshops). The results show that obtaining the children's assent is a complex process and in permanent negotiation (FERREIRA, 2003), and that ethics in research goes far beyond the Terms of Free and Informed Consent - TCLE, being above all aligned with the attitudes of the researcher in the field.
