Resumen

SILVA, João Paulo de Lorena  y  PARAISO, Marlucy Alves. Scary, attractive and fascinating monsters: a map of queer children’s constitution lines. Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2021, vol.59, n.62, e-26882.  Epub 18-Abr-2022. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2021v59n62id26882.

How do queer children live? Which childhood is this that, inhabiting in the “in-between”, seek to escape from any definition? What marks these childhoods? What ways of life are they producing? This article, settling in post-critical theorizations, maps out the traces of childhoods that we call here monstrous and develops the argument that there is, in contemporaneity, the insurgence of queer childhoods, de-identified from the universal attributes of gender historically instituted. We show that these childhoods are crossed and constituted by the lines of precariousness, aesthetics and politics, which move to produce, on one hand, normalization, control, discipline, differentiation and, on another hand, escape, resistance and the production of other ways of life. We show, finally, that these childhoods, investigated in the research that subsidizes this article, are obligated to live with pain, sadness and exclusion from an early age, but also populate life of multiple, changing and joyful possibilities.

Palabras clave : Queer childhoods; Gender; Sexuality; Education.
