Abstract

PRANTO, Aliny Dayany Pereira de Medeiros. History teachers: ways of being and uses of tactics (1970-2000). Rev. Educ. Questão [online]. 2022, vol.60, n.65, e-30414.  Epub Feb 24, 2023. ISSN 1981-1802.  https://doi.org/10.21680/1981-1802.2022v60n65id30414.

The purpose of this paper is to reflect about the tactics developed by history teachers as forms of resistance to the control strategies promoted by the Brazilian State and school institutions. This article is a preliminary result of the research “Paths of History teaching: the knowledge and the teaching practice in Rio Grande do Norte (1970-2000)”, still in progress. We are listening to history teachers who have taught in this state. Initially they were thought to be thematic interviews of oral history, along its course, they have been unfolding in oral history of the life of teachers. Fundamental to this work are the concepts strategies and tactics (CERTEAU, 2014). Besides these, other concepts, such as shared authority (FRISCH, 2016); narrative (BENJAMIN, 2012); oral history (MEIHY; HOLANDA, 2017); and teachers' life history (ANDRADE; ALMEIDA; SILVA, 2019) assist the research. The treatment of the narratives follows the propositions of Alessandro Portelli (2016). After analyzing the sources, it is possible to understand how resistance is a fundamental part of the teacher identity forged by these professionals.

Keywords : Life history of teachers; Tactics; Resistance; Oral history.
