The article aims to investigate the recreation and education of infant’s bodies in Elementary School in the state of Pará, in the period from 1890 to 1918, identifying the time, spaces and activities present in educational legislation of Pará. The study is characterized as historical and documental. The main sources used were the Elementary School regulations of 1890, 1903, 1910, 1918 and the internal regulations of school groups and isolated schools of 1904. This documentation was analyzed in dialogue with educational printed material from the period in question and authors from the field of the history of education and childhood. From the analysis of the sources, it was possible to identify that the time, space and activities to recreation sought to educate the child body, from discipline and physical training, with the intention of forming the future republican citizen, who should be disciplined, orderly, strong and healthy.
