This article presents a differential (DIF) analysis for geography items in Proeb-2001. The groups in the analysis are composed of 4^th grade students of different geographic regions in the state of Minas Gerais. The results suggest that the items associated with environmental issues are easier for students from the Belo Horizonte metropolitan area while items which compare urban and rural spaces are easier for students from the inland.
