This paper aims to discuss some aspects related to the impact on teachers' practices of an official literacy evaluation program in Minas Gerais State (PROALFA). An open questionnaire was administered to a group of Educational Technicians to and out whether they observe any impacts of this program on school practices. As a theoretical and methodological perspective we used the Certeau's concept of strategy and tactics (1994) and the concepts of reform and change proposed by Popkewitz (1997). The results indicate that the discourse of Educational Technicians is polyphonic and it also reveals that PROALFA has caused different impacts on daily school life, such as: teachers change the methodology to teach reading and writing based on the topics of the program; besides that, we observed that teachers implemented some tactics to deal with the evaluation program, for instance, training students to take the test, using the same questions in class as those proposed by that evaluation program. This means that the program has impacted the literacy curriculum, consequently making it necessary to discuss the real aim of implementing an official evaluation program in schools.
