Abstract

LAEVERS, Ferre  and  STUTZMAN, Tina Marie. Fundamentos da educação experiencial: bem-estar e envolvimento na educação infantil. Est. Aval. Educ. [online]. 2014, vol.25, n.58, pp.152-184. ISSN 0103-6831.

The model of experiential education is the result of a project inspired by the Rogerian approach. The main focus is the perspective of the child, attempting to identify the types of experiences that the learning environment offers and how these experiences may be optimized. One of the main contributions of this model is the identification of two key indicators of quality: well-being and involvement. These offer a revealing measure of the power of the process and clarification of how children progress. As a consequence, knowledge about the educational context presents a series of principles and practices that may be seen as a way to increase the levels of well-being and involvement of children. This model goes beyond the process and context relationship, articulating the results of the educational process. Here, inspired by Piaget, the concept of meaningful learning was developed in connection with a holistic vision of results and competencies.
