The present article originated from a doctoral research, carried out with the teachers of teaching degree courses in Mathematics in the federal institutes of Ceará and Paraíba. The objective was to analyze the conceptions and evaluative practices of these teachers and their relationship with teacher training. This is a qualitative study, based on the philosophical foundations of hermeneutic phenomenology from the views of Martin Heidegger and Hans-Georg Gadamer, to analyze the data collected in the semi-structured interviews. The conceptions and practices of learning assessment addressed indicated that there is no training culture directed to the principles of a learning assessment, which contributes to the strengthening of evaluative practices of reproduction.
