In this paper we investigated how school infrastructure is distributed in the public elementary and/or secondary schools of Paraná and which aspects need greater attention from public policy makers, since school infrastructure can influence student performance and, therefore, affect human capital and economic growth. We used microdata from the School Census for the years 2017 and 2019 as well as Factor Analysis. The results show that policies aimed at improving support structures, extracurricular activities and electronic equipment are needed. Despite their infrastructure development, rural schools still require greater attention from public policy makers. It seems that among the mesoregions, the Southeast of Paraná needs more support for school infrastructure.
