The need to develop literacy in language assessment with increasingly younger children has gained more attention in schools in recent years. For this reason, the aim of this paper is to present a guide designed to support teachers in enhancing their language assessment literacy with emphasis on promoting self-assessment as a tool for learning with children. The methodology presents the research stages undertaken to create such educational resource, and the analysis explains the guide’s icons sections, helping readers to understand how these sections can assist teachers in their self-learning process. In conclusion, teachers are expected to incorporate self-assessment practices in English classes with children to foster their learning development.
