The authors analyze the experience of various Latin American feminisms in the 1970s and 1980s and project the changes occurring in the 1990s through a criticai description of the regional Encuentros held in Bogotá (1981), Lima (1983), Bertioga (1985), Mexico City (1987), and San Bernardo (1990), including an analysisof the key debates and organizational and theoretical issues at each of these meetings.
