The purpose of this article is to describe and analyze the initial steps of the women's association founded by Bertha Lutz, the Brazilian Federation for Women's Progress, and its first conference occurring in the year 1922. Adopting a case study methodology, we present by both that ended up consolidating an image of representatives of "good” feminism in Brazil.
