Abstract

This article deals with the dialogical relation between the contemporary Brazilian women photographer´s work and feminism. Therefore, it is need to chart a brief course of women´s insertion in visual arts in Brazil and worldwide, adding the understanding of gender production in the working field of women artists, including the work produced by Brazilian photography. This study purposes to analyze the body as discuss instrument, with emphasis on self-portrait trough the series of image Silêncio(s) do Feminino, in order to narrowing relations between female photography and feminism.
