Abstract

PILAO, Antonio Cerdeira. When love is the problem: feminism and polyamory in debate. Rev. Estud. Fem. [online]. 2019, vol.27, n.3, e55097.  Epub Sep 01, 2019. ISSN 1806-9584.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1806-9584-2019v27n355097.

Polyamory is a term that refers to the possibility of establishing multiple affective and sexual bonds in a concomitant, consensual and egalitarian way. This paper analyzes how polyamory was presented, interpreted and debated by feminists and polyamorists on the internet. The goal is to investigate to what extent polyamory was understood as contradictory or compatible with feminism. The research was conducted from the analysis of three texts that present problems in the application of polyamory in a context of gender, racial and class inequalities.

Keywords : Conjugality; Sexuality; Feminism; Non-monogamy; Polyamory.
