ALVAREZ, Silvia Lamadrid  and  NAVARRETE, Alexandra Benitt. Chronology of the feminist movement in Chile 2006-2016. Rev. Estud. Fem. [online]. 2019, vol.27, n.3, e54709.  Epub Sep 01, 2019. ISSN 1806-9584.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1806-9584-2019v27n354709.

In the context of a revival of social movements, feminism in Chile has gained increasing prominence in the public space, with a diversity of currents and organizations that try to articulate around the definition of their demands as a social movement, considering the debate between autonomy and institutionalization. Based on a virtual timeline documenting the main feminist public mobilizations in the period 2007-2016, we intend to describe the main characteristics of this process and analyze the main nodes of collective feminist action in the country, highlighting the emerging role of the new generations from university organizations, favoring an enormous growth in the emblematic mobilizations, but with moderate political effectiveness in the institutional sphere.

Keywords : Feminism; Collective action; Social movements.
