MARIN, Yonier Alexander Orozco. Problematizing the biological discourse about the body and gender, and its influence on the teaching practices of biology. Rev. Estud. Fem. [online]. 2019, vol.27, n.3, e56283.  Epub 01-Set-2019. ISSN 1806-9584.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1806-9584-2019v27n356283.

This essay has as a central thesis to recognize the need to problematize the biological discourse on gender and the body and its circulation in school contexts as a neutral and objective knowledge, based on the assumption of ideal body that locates the different, strange bodies, at the margin. Initially, the concepts of ideal body and bodies at the margin are discussed. Then, a series of arguments that justify the need to problematize this biological discourse is offered. Finally, possible paths and routes for this problematization are discussed, resorting to theoretical assumptions of decoloniality, providing some specific reflections for the teaching of biology. The essay discusses ideological and colonized meanings that permeate and base the biological discourse.
