This article presents the rising if the subjetive known as Journalism and Gender in Journalism Course of Universidade Federal de Santa Catarina (UFSC) and discusses its needs and emergence on journalists’ education. The discussions in Journalism area about/from Gender topics are still incipient, in spite of construction of discussions that reconsider journalism practices urgency, relationships between professionals and teaching. In this report, some observations were made about our experience teaching this subject, showing advances, struggles and seeking to contribute to the growth of the area and the construction of knowledge about Gender topics in Journalism.
