Abstract

BARBOSA, Marcela Dias; CATOIA, Cinthia de Cassia  and  SOUZA, Mariane Destefani de. Prostitution, Law and Feminisms: Reflection on the Crime of Rape in Brazil. Rev. Estud. Fem. [online]. 2021, vol.29, n.3, e72212.  Epub Sep 01, 2021. ISSN 1806-9584.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1806-9584-2021v29n372212.

The purpose of this article is to analyze the power distribution and how it leads to the unequal position among sex workers, as well as how it limits their possibilities of action, specifically when it comes to sexual violence and access to the judiciary system. We also propose a reflection about the dynamics of established relations and as well perpetuated by sex workers and through them. On the other hand, we consider how the extent to these dynamics might lead to destabilizing readings of the so-called “woman” category in hegemonic feminist production.

Keywords : feminisms; sexuality; prostitution; sexual violence; rape trial.
