This paper aims to analyze university extension starting from the exclusion of women from the production, transmission and dissemination of knowledge. We understand university extension as a fundamental dimension of academic work, responsible for the production and sharing of knowledge with the community. The extension, articulated with teaching and research, assumes an indispensable character in the integral formation of the students and also in the formation of teachers and the community in general. In this sense, it is necessary to problematize the place of women in extensionist practices. Throughout this article, we propose to think about the emergence and strengthening of a feminist epistemology at the core of extension.
