Resumen

SCHMITT, Silvana Lazzarotto  y  FIUZA, Alexandre Felipe. Patrícia Galvão (Pagu): woman, mother, activist. Rev. Estud. Fem. [online]. 2025, vol.33, n.1, e91115.  Epub 01-Ene-2025. ISSN 1806-9584.  https://doi.org/10.1590/1806-9584-2025v33n191115.

This article presents reflections on the life and militancy trajectory of Patrícia Galvão (Pagu). She was one of the first and best-known political prisoners, an expressive militant who, through art and her intellectual production, socialized reflections on the living conditions of the working class, especially women. The research was carried out from academic productions on Pagu and from their own writings. We also used documents from the political police, available on the online archive of the National Archives. The intention of this study is to establish reflections on the historical conditions of women's militancy in the Estado Novo, as well as to analyze their contributions on political, social and economic issues that triggered changes in these fields of action and identity affirmation. Pagu faced the challenges of the Estado Novo dictatorship and left an invaluable legacy.

Palabras clave : Estado Novo; Female Militancy; Pagu.
