The purpose of this article is to show the need to be better acquainted with the school we have and for which we are responsible. It exposes the experiences and the conclusions achieved along the teacher's formation and continuous education courses. It also questions whether it will be allowed to the teacher, and the school to realize their self evaluation, which promotes the teachers professional development and improves the qualify of teaching. It presents as basic conditions to this practice time and persistence, exchange, experiences, trust, and confidence. It concludes affirming that self-evaluation guides to innovation, once it allows the questioning of what already exists, relating those ideas with new ones, therefore, giving place to negotiations.
