The present article aims to present some general ideas about the role of the educational indicators and includes a discussion about their functions, how they characterize, how they can be conceived and some implications of their use. The article also discusses the development possibilities and the use of the educational indicators by teachers in a way that the comprehension they have on their students can be amplified and can reflect deeper on their pedagogic practices, objecting the school success. Adding to that, it analyzes the potential and the characteristics of some actions of continuous education that can be conducted together with the teachers aiming the use of the educational indicators as a daily practice.
