CASTRO, Claudio de Moura. Educação superior e eqüidade: inocente ou culpada?. Ensaio: aval. pol. públ. educ. [online]. 2001, vol.09, n.30, pp.109-122. ISSN 0104-4036.

The extreme fragility of our elementary and high school makes the social classes pass through a sieve and the poorest ones can't have a big representation in the college level. It's not our college system fault. It only inherits the iniquity of the lower levels of education. However, the operation of the college education adds more iniquities to the previous ones. Besides spending badly the resources that could attend in a better way the poor people, it subsidizes the education of the richest ones and makes the poorest ones pay the whole cost of education. In other words, Brazil is the world champion of the social injustice in the college education. This title must bring us little pride. Nevertheless, the big injustice heralds inside the university can only see for way. What happens inside their walls doesn't call their attention.
