The author discusses the aspects of the Brazilian sanitary reform that require public policies and initiatives of formation of human resources in health, involving the universities and education institutions to the capacitating of professionals in the strategies of family health. It discusses the population changing, epidemiologic, and the demand profile in health related to the development processes of the country and, that still, characterize the regional and social inequality levels, in Brazil. The sanitary and educational reforms, in lately years, has been enlarging the universality of the access to the health services, however, it hasn't attended the improvement of the resolution and quality of the cores. The strategies of family health are discussed and their relation to the educational policies sceneries and the education of health professions guidelines to attend the professionals formation adequate to the expansion of the family health teams.
