The present article is about the history of the masters degree course in Brazil, focusing the subject of the implantation of a dependent model of masters degree. Beginning the historical rising in the decade of 30 the work emphasizes the decade of 60, being about the political-economic context of the formal implantation of the master’s degree course in Brazil, with the publication of the reporter's Newton Sucupira Opinion 977/65.
