Initiatives in institutions that carry out scientific researches in the educations field can be understood as an expressive movement that complement the traditional teaching learning process. In this context new practices arise, giving room to reflections that may contribute to changes in the schooling process. This article is focused on the collection and analysis of students' opinions that had participated and had finished a practical training in a Program addressed to gifted youngsters. This ongoing program was designed and implemented in 1999 in the "Centro de Ciência do Estado do Rio de Janeiro". This was a very important educational experience because the difficulties related to scientific research in Brazil were shown to students. Its also help them to build intellectual autonomy based on Knowledge and a new perspective of the teaching-learning process.
