From a sociological and organizational view we discuss the heuristical potencialities of the issue of organizational culture to understand the daily functioning of the school organizations, namely from the analysis of three analytic dimensions: the relationship between the "structure" (formal) and the "action" (informal) and between the "external" (outside) and the "internal"(inside) the school; the multiform nature and the intrinsical dynamic to the processes of construction and reconstruction of culture; the theorical and conceptual differentiation between "school culture" and "school organizational culture", as long as sociological realities of distinct nature. In general lines, we adopt the theorical model that we construct in our PhD thesis (TORRES, 2004) about the theme of organizational culture in the public school context.
