This article analyzes the difficulties of Argentina to strengthen the capacities of the specialized organs in the production of statistics and evaluation in a modern approach. For this, two recent events have tended to debase public data are described: the first one related to the intervention of the National Institute of Statistics and Census, and the second one with some inconveniences occurring in the dispread of the National Operational Assessment. In this line are reviewed public positions of government officials and specialists in the country who have expressed criticism or positive regard of developments. We conclude by emphasizing the urgency of generating greater transparency of public figures as an improvement in the professionalization of the institutions responsible for producing them.
