The object of this study is Provisional Measure No. 746, dated September 22nd, 2016, converted into Law No.13,415, 2017, which establishes the Policy for Promotion of the Execution of Secondary Schools in Integral Time, amends Law No. 9,394 of December 20th, 1996 and Law No. 11,494 of June 20th, 2007. This paper aims to analyze the arguments that justified the edition of PM No. 746 and to discuss the main changes proposed regarding the (re)organization of secondary education, legislation. We used the methodology of content and documentary analysis for this research. The results predict immense challenges, especially regarding the financial investments for the current secondary schools and for the training of teachers to act in a new perspective of education of young Brazilians.
