Distance Education requires an especific trainning for teachers and tutors because of its metodology and didactic planning. People responsible for its development need an adequate education to grasp the organizational, tecnological and pedagogical aspects required for performing their work on distance education. The trainning coursework for distance education professionals should attend areas such as conceptual fundations, national and international perspectives on distance learning, adult education, distance education metodology, tutorage fundations and strategies, for instance.
