The article discusses the formation of teachers understanding that it takes place in countless daily contexts experienced by the subject, according to the idea of nets of knowledge. Presenting results of two different researches, it connects knowledge incorporated in the everyday life of different people, through the concept of memory of teachers. In the second part, the analysis of the images of teachers indicates the complexity of the pedagogical practice, which imposes the necessity of a formation able to deal with these complexities.
