This paper reports a survey mainly having focus on the analysis of the results obtained after the use of a material (AQI) allied to technological resources (software Google Earth ™) used in an environmental educational workshop. The workshop was developed with students of an Environmental vocational education program of a public school in the city of Ponta Grossa, Parana. The work carried out analysis of water quality of a stream around the school, which was classified as poor by the proposed WQI. Results indicate the need for effective linkage between the basic and professional education, and also put in evidence the need to rethink the teaching of techniciansas the ones who posses scientific knowledge and professional skills in step with social realities.
