Resumen

LUCENA, Simone. Digital cultures and mobile technologies in education. Educ. Rev. [online]. 2016, n.59, pp.277-290. ISSN 1984-0411.  https://doi.org/10.1590/0104-4060.43689.

The twentieth century was marked by the integration of information and communication technologies (ICT) networked in different social sectors. Now, in the twenty-first century, we've been experiencing, more intensely, the use of mobile technologies and sociodigital networks that put us into constant interaction with (cyber) socio-technical spaces. Those are spaces where communication occurs in non-fixed places, recording facts and information at the very moment they happen. Young people are the ones who use this form of communication more frequently, turning it into a brand, a habitus of this generation that is characterized, among other factors, by the great immersion in digital cultures. They are young people who no longer accept conventional ways of teaching and learning, because they have been learning, from the technologies and networks, how to interact, produce and publish. These are some of the challenges that education has to face nowadays, mainly as for the initial training of future teachers who are involved in internship programs in Elementary schools. To understand these challenges and find possible ways of improving education, the Research Group in Education and Digital Cultures (ECult) / Conselho Nacional de Desenvolvimento Científico e Tecnológico (CNPq), linked to Universidade Federal de Sergipe (UFS), has been developing research related to the theme of this study. However, it is paramount to increase the practice of research on topics such as education and digital cultures in other Postgraduate Education Programs.
