Abstract

PIRONE, Ilaria. Current predicaments of educational relationships: school failure, an open window to our contemporaneity. Educ. Rev. [online]. 2017, n.64, pp.103-116. ISSN 1984-0411.  https://doi.org/10.1560/0104-4060.49811.

Taking a psychoanalytic approach in the field of education, this article proposes to make “another speech” emerge as far as it concerns the school failure, so called in French décrochage scolaire. It is based on an analysis of the material resulting from a survey conducted by the Clinique de l’éducation et de la formation (CLEF-CIRCEFT) between 2013 and 2016 in Île de France. The intersection between the issues that emerge from the discourse of the subjects found in the various fields, students and professionals, and the institutional response to what has become a “phenomenon”, seems to indicate a type of failure in the encounter between adults and adolescents. This article proposes a reading of the scholastic failure as a manifestation of new dilemmas, with which educational relationships in our contemporaneity must cope.

Keywords : school failure; educational system; psychoanalysis; affections; desire.
