This article discusses the configurations of educationalist identities, having the multiple offered dimensions and the activities which are taken over by these professionals in their working area as a primary point of reference. The analyses made in this text owe a lot to the contributions of Stuart Hall, Zygmunt Bauman and Norbert Elias. Through a research done with pedagogical coordinators in public schools in Curitiba, we could see that two dispositions co-exist in the process of educationalist identity construction: one of them is chosen and structured during higher education, and the other one is produced in everyday situations through the real structural and conjunctural conditions present at schools. We concluded that the academic conception about educationalist identity was modified, yet the school administrative structures remain almost intact. It results in precarious conditions at the work of educationalists, who have to answer to almost all the demands that involve students and teachers at school.
