Abstract

JACOMINI, Márcia Aparecida  and  MORAES, Carmen Sylvia Vidigal. The Antonio Gramsci’s writings and works of his interpreters in theses and dissertations on educational policies (2000-2010). Educ. Rev. [online]. 2018, vol.34, n.72, pp.209-230. ISSN 1984-0411.  https://doi.org/10.1590/0104-4060.59345.

In this article, we analyze the Antonio Gramsci’s bibliography and his interpreters mobilized by graduate students who adopted the author's thinking in his works. Thirty-two theses and dissertations were selected in postgraduate programs in education in the period 2000-2010, whose abstracts indicate the presence of Gramsci in the theoretical reference that was used. Documentary and bibliographical research was carried out with the objective of mapping the writings of Gramsci and of interpreters of his thought mentioned in the course of the text and in the references. It was found that the postgraduate students, for the understanding of Gramsci's thought, supported themselves in the work of the author himself and that of his intérpreters. With regard to Gramsci's writings, the authors of the analyzed works cited both the thematic edition and the 1990 edition of the Prison Notebooks. The texts Dialectical conception of history and The intellectuals and the organization of culture, from thematic edition, were the two most cited texts. Among the interpreters, the most mentioned was Carlos Nelson Coutinho. It was concluded that the presence of Gramsci's ideas and concepts in works on educational policies must be accompanied by careful attention to the bibliographic reference of the author and on the author, and that it is important, given the limits of the thematic edition, that the Gramsci's thought be studied based on the edition of the 1990s or in the Italian critical edition.
