Abstract

VOLTARELLI, Monique Aparecida  and  LOPES, Eloisa Assunção de Melo. Childhood and scientific education: perspectives for teaching learning. Educ. Rev. [online]. 2021, vol.37, e75394.  Epub Aug 11, 2021. ISSN 1984-0411.  https://doi.org/10.1590/0104-4060.75394.

This article addresses the relationship between teacher education and the importance of Science Education in early Childhood Education and early years of Elementary School, in order to bring indications for the initial teaching learning in working with children. To this end, a recourse was made to the narratives of students in the Pedagogy course, from a Brazilian public university, who, after making field visits to observe the pedagogical practice of teachers, were able to broaden the perspectives about Science teaching linked to the specificities of childhood. The need for sensory and ludic activities based on experimentation became evident, with visits and outings as essential for teaching Science to children, as well as it became clear that the feelings of participation and belonging linked to citizen education in Science Education favors the learning of children to unveil the phenomena of the world in a critical and reflective way.
