The objective of this article is to analyze the impact of the precariousness of employment contracts on the remuneration of teaching professionals in the state network of Paraíba, considering the months of August in the years 2021 and 2023 as temporal benchmarks. Assuming its qualitative nature, this research, supported by a critical-dialectic perspective, it proposes a debate between historical, political issues and the economic effects on the teaching working class based on data from the Career and Remuneration Plan of state teachers in Paraíba, their remuneration contained in the Information System on Public Budgets in Education, neoliberal prescriptions and the protection of social property. The results highlight the need to provide public teachers through public competition, from the perspective that temporary contracts devalue the working class, especially in what is essential for survival in a society immersed in the capitalist mode of production - remuneration.
