We pretend to demonstrate that the teacher have a legitimate place ans position in the classroom carrying his or her knowledge as localization and its agalma as its adornment. The research is based upon Mocovici’s theory of social representations. It is an ongoing research which aims to seize the representations of teacher-citizen of 12 teachers from a public primary school in Lauro de Freitas (Bahia, Brazil). We collected data through free associations (or evocation) which is a projective technique which turns possible the remembering of something present in the subject memory. Results show the subjects associate the teacher-citizens to one which shows to be talkative, engaged, affective, prepared and animated. These are representations shared and guided by the imagetic, cognitive and affective aspects. The analysis of these representations was based on constructs from psychoanalytic theory which tried to reveal what was on the other side of the free associations made by the subjects of the research.
