BIXIO, Beatriz  y  HEREDIA, Luis. Los procesos comunicacionales y sus desafíos en la educación aborigen. Revista da FAAEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2010, vol.19, n.33, pp.159-171. ISSN 0104-7043.

In this paper, we discuss some anchorings of school failure in indigenous children and youngsters with regard to determined aspects related to the articulation between educational styles and communication styles. We state that the distance between the forms acquired by the communication of natives and those proposed by the school constitute a subtle aspect but with strong incidence in school failure and desertion since it affects statement interpretation. The communication rules spread to the relationships between meanings and behaviors, which make up another axis that warns about the distance between the school educational styles and those developed within indigenous culture. Also those distances are interpreted in terms of the differences of power and asymmetry that rule inter-ethnic relationships, which are defined as relations of friction and conflict. Within this framework, we recognize the importance for the communities to participate actively in designing their own educational projects.
